Postural Restoration Trained (PRT)

The Postural Restoration Institute has established a credentialing process for athletic trainers, athletic therapists, strength and conditioning coaches, exercise physiologists, and fitness professionals as a way to recognize and identify individuals with advanced training, extraordinary interest and devotion to the science of postural adaptations, asymmetrical patterns and the influence of polyarticular chains of muscles on the human body as defined by the Postural Restoration Institute. Postural Restoration Trained (PRT) is a credential available to Athletic Trainers (with Certification through the BOC), Athletic Therapists (with Certification through the CATA), Strength and Conditioning Coaches (with CSCS Certification through the NSCA or SCCC Certification through the CSCCa), Certified Special Population Specialist (with CSPS Certification through the NSCA, and completion of a Bachelor's degree or higher degree), Exercise Physiologists (with Certification through the ACSM), Registered Kinesiologists (with certification through the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (COKO), who have attended PRI courses, demonstrated a thorough understanding of the science through completion of the PRT Application and successfully participated in both clinical and analytical testing. To date, 68 individuals have earned the designation of Postural Restoration Trained™ (PRT) under the direction of Ron Hruska.

PRT Application Deadline –  October 15, 2023* (for testing on January 7-8, 2024)

*Applications are accepted throughout the year, and applicants will receive feedback from the review committee within two months. A minimum of 4 candidates must be accepted for testing to occur each year.

**PRT Summer Testing is offered every 3 years. The next summer testing will take place in 2024.

Please send two copies of your completed PRT application by mail (email is accepted for international applications only) to the address below. Applications for the January 2024 testing date must be received no later than October 15, 2023. Applications for the Summer 2024 testing date will be due on March 15, 2024. We are unable to accept late applications.

Applications are accepted and reviewed throughout the year. Once received, your application will be reviewed by our PRT Application Review Committee and you will be notified of their feedback and comments within two months. If you choose to complete the process after consideration of all reviewer’s feedback, a two-day practical and analytical testing process will take place at the Postural Restoration Institute in Lincoln, NE.
