Jennifer Platt, DPT, ATC, PRC

Director of Education and Credentialing

Jen received her doctorate degree in physical therapy at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. During this time, she also had the opportunity to serve as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the Rockhurst athletic teams. She received her undergraduate degree in athletic training from Nebraska Wesleyan University, where she also participated in golf. Following graduation from PT school, she began her career as a staff physical therapist at the Hruska Clinic. In 2010, Jen began working part-time at the Postural Restoration Institute focusing on clinical support and development. In 2011, Jen earned the designation of Postural Restoration Certified (PRC) as a result of advanced training and extraordinary interest to the science of postural adaptations, asymmetrical patterns and the influence of polyarticular chains of muscles on the body as defined by the Postural Restoration Institute®. In April of 2012, she started a full-time position as Director of Education and Credentialing at the Postural Restoration Institute.

As Director of Education and Credentialing, Jen oversees all of the PRI course development and updates, in addition to facilitating the Postural Restoration Certified (PRC) and Postural Restoration Trained (PRT) credentialing programs. In addition, Jen manages all of the PRI staff and faculty, oversees accreditations and CE approval, and completion of the annual schedule and brochure. She also provides clinical support for those who have questions related to the PRI course content. Although she no longer sees patients, she finds her assistance with all of the clinical roles in the Institute fulfilling, and she enjoys seeing the growth in the clinicians across the country and internationally. In 2014, Jen travelled to Japan for the first ever PRI courses taught in Japan. Since that trip in July 2014, Jen continues to work directly with the PRI Japan faculty and PRI Japan Education Coordinator on a weekly basis to grow PRI Japan. Another role that she is passionate about is the protection of the science of PRI, and she works closely with the other two directors, Bobbie Rappl and Janie Ebmeier to ensure that the copyrighted material from the past 20 years of the Institute's work is being properly used by others outside the Institute.

Jen lives in Lincoln with her husband and daughter. She enjoys Husker football, volleyball, basketball and baseball, and is also a loyal Kansas City Royals baseball fan. She also enjoys golfing, time at the lake, and most of all spending time with her daughter (favorite things are going to the zoo, playing outside and watching Disney movies - well really anything Disney).

History of Passion

The Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) is built around 30 years of clinical practice associated with recurring successes of specific patient treatment programs. We established reproducible, outcome-based programs based on consistent evidence-based correlations, discovered with patient biomechanical, respiratory, and neurological functional patterns and limitations. My passion for the integrated systems of the body has resulted in an examination and intervention process of the asymmetrical human body called Postural Restoration.
