Jon’s passion is to provide a rehabilitation experience focused in compassion and dignity. He possesses an extremely unique skill set and is one of a select group of physical therapists to be Board Certified by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in Orthopaedics and Clinical Electrophysiology (muscle and nerve disorders). Has extensive training and experience over a 17 year career in treating complex chronic pain patients and competitive athletes. He has made it his life’s work to explore new techniques of therapeutic rehabilitation in order to offer a more complete recovery to his patients.  Jon has received advanced training in the areas of Chronic Pain Management and Stress Resilency Techniques (amitsood.com) at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Jon’s interests are the evaluation and treatment of chronic pain syndromes through a holistic approach.  His undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University was in psychology and therefore he appreciates how the mind (neuroscience) can influence posture and movement patterns.

Jon is also passionate about improving athletes’ sport performance and competes himself in open water swims, Triathalons, and Masters swimming competitions.  Jon has worked with Olympians, collegiate, high school, and industrial athletes. His extensive knowledge of in the areas of biomechanics, cold laser (mL 830.com), ASTYM, and orthotic fabrication assists in the enhancement of an athlete’s performance, while minimizing the chance for injury.

Jon is blessed to have been exposed to the PRI since 2009. He has aggressively pursued learning the science and application of Postural Restoration to help patients find solutions for self-empowered healing.   Due to his knowledge and expertise, Jon is a sought out speaker to educate organizations about how the science of PRI can dramatically improve the health of individual by eliminating the pain associated with their faulty movement patterns.

Jon’s goal as a physical therapist is to work together with my patients to restore their body’s own effective movement patterns. By restoring optimal biomechanics, individuals are then able to move in a more efficient and pain free manner.  This is a collaborative process between Jon and his patient to achieve this outcome.

On a personal note, Jon has been married to his wife, Leslie for 11 years. They have 2 beautiful daughters, Caroline (10) and Meredith (8), who keep them busy traveling to swim meets and soccer tournaments.
