For a number of years, the Postural Restoration Institute® offered an annual Interdisciplinary Integration Symposium. Each of these symposiums was designed around a theme that we felt best represented the present mindsets of those applying PRI course material as well as our own interest in exploring pathways of collaboration for advancing PRI concepts.
The word ‘interdisciplinary’ reflects activity that analyzes, synthesizes, and harmonizes links between disciplines into a coordinated and coherent whole. Or, simply put, it means “relating to more than one branch of knowledge.” This annual Summit will not be centered around one topic or theme, but rather will offer two days of presentations on multiple areas of study, for attendees interested in PRI who want to explore how multiple areas of study intersect with one another.
This Summit will allow those with common interest to come together from any field and converge on shared research, a common problem, or professional experience. It will provide opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, dialogue, and connection across the PRI community. Not only is this an opportunity for you to be involved in the learning and application of PRI supportive, evidence-based practice in novel settings, but this Summit will also provide you the opportunity to present on a specific topic for the PRI community.
Opportunities for social interaction have been few and far between over the past few years, and to say that we have missed seeing you in Lincoln is an understatement. We look forward to bringing together the PRI community again for an annual in-person event, where PRI interest can be intersected at this PRI Interdisciplinary Studies Summit. PRI welcomes any licensed healthcare or certified fitness professional to attend our courses. You may be asked to submit your license to practice as a healthcare professional or qualified fitness or strength coach certification (though an organization that is recognized in the United States) to attend PRI courses. Students studying to become a healthcare or fitness professional at an accredited university are encouraged to enroll, and may be asked to provide enrollment status and program/degree information. If you have questions about whether you are eligible to complete PRI courses, please contact us. Attendees are responsible for following their state statutes regulating their professional practice. A certificate will be awarded to attendees upon completion of this course or any of the other PRI courses.
Accessible Learning Environments
All participants in Postural Restoration Institute™ (PRI) continuing education courses are entitled to an accessible, accommodating, and supportive teaching and learning environment. Participants have the right to request accommodations and the responsibility to provide disability documentation that supports those requests. PRI has the right to establish eligibility guidelines in accordance with both law and policy regarding disability and provide those accommodations that appropriately provide equal access to the programs and activities it sponsors.
A Certificate of Completion for 15 contact hours is awarded to attendees upon the successful completion of this course. Before attending a course, please verify CEU acceptance with your profession’s regulating body.
Physical Therapists and PT Assistants
In the states where PRI is sponsoring courses and where approval through state American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) or licensing agencies is required, PRI will apply for approval for CEUs for Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants.
The following states accept other state approval and thus would honor this course as an approved course: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Washington DC, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wyoming.
In the states where PRI is sponsoring courses and where approval through state licensing agencies is required, PRI will look into applying for CEUs for Chiropractors (upon request). Requests must be made at least 90 days prior to the course date.
Postural Restoration Institute (BOC AP# P2376) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Certified Athletic Trainers. This program is eligible for a maximum of 15 Category A hours/CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.
Other Healthcare and Fitness Professionals
PRI Welcomes any interested healthcare or fitness professional to attend our courses. Attendees are responsible for following their state statues regulating their professional practice as they integrate interdisciplinary PRI concepts.
Presentations are 90 minutes in length and includes up to two speakers, along with a question and answer period for the last 15 minutes (of the 90 minutes allotted time).
Speakers may be any licensed healthcare and/or certified fitness or movement professional. Speakers do not need to be PRI Credentialed Providers, and PRI welcomes interdisciplinary professionals (i.e. dentists, optometrists, massage therapists, psychologists, etc.). A presentation may include up to two speakers, and interdisciplinary teams (i.e. PT and Dentist) are encouraged to submit an abstract.
Presentation topics should be relevant to the interest of the PRI community and must fall within one of the five summit sub-categories:
This summit will be held at the Postural Restoration Institute® in Lincoln, Nebraska, for in-person attendance only and will not be available via live stream/Zoom.
Presentations will be either assigned to 75 or 90 minutes in length and includes up to two speakers, along with a question and answer period for the last 15 minutes.

Presentations must avoid any affiliation with a commercial product or service.
By submitting an abstract, speaker(s) are agreeing to be available for scheduling on either day of the summit.
By submitting an abstract, speaker(s) are agreeing to adhere to the Compensation Policy for presentations (see below), as it will be strictly enforced.
The individual submitting the abstract must have confirmed the presentation with all speakers prior to submission, if more than one speaker will be participating in the presentation.
Selection of abstracts is contingent upon approval by the PRI Interdisciplinary Studies Summit Committee.
Due to an unknown number of abstracts that may be submitted, all abstracts may not be selected. Topics will be selected based on the organization of the program, equipment needs, and quality of content and speakers.
After July 15, 2024, the Postural Restoration Institute® will only approve a speaker change if the original speaker is unable to attend the Summit.
Deadline
Abstracts must be submitted no later than July 15, 2024.
Incomplete (e.g., missing speaker CV) and/or late abstract submissions will NOT be accepted.
Compensation Policy for Presentations
$300 honorarium divided proportionally (if there are two speakers, each speaker must actively
present for a minimum of 20 minutes); in addition:
Complimentary PRI Interdisciplinary Studies Summit registration
Reimbursement of authorized expenses related to the speaking engagement (roundtrip coach airfare or up to $500 in mileage reimbursement, $100 food stipend, and up to three night’s lodging at one of the hotels listed on the confirmations letter.)

Please avoid “understand” and “appreciate”, as these are not measurable.
Two to three keywords (not in the title) that best describe the focus of the presentation.
Three to five references/sources (e.g. peer reviewed publications) that support the content of the presentation; at least one reference must be within the past 5 years.

Do I have to be a PRI Credentialed Provider (PRC or PRT) to present at the PRI Interdisciplinary Studies Summit?
No, you do not have to be a PRC or PRT credentialed provider to present at the PRI Interdisciplinary Studies Summit. Speakers may be any licensed healthcare and/or certified fitness or movement professional. Speakers do not need to be PRI Credentialed Providers, and PRI welcomes interdisciplinary professionals (i.e. dentists, optometrists, massage therapists, psychologists, etc.). A presentation may include up to two speakers, and interdisciplinary teams (i.e. PT and Dentist) are encouraged to submit an abstract.
Can I co-present with another provider?
Yes! A presentation may include up to two speakers, and interdisciplinary teams (i.e. PT and Dentist) are encouraged to submit an abstract.
When are abstracts due?
Abstracts are due by July 15th each year.
Are speakers reimbursed for travel?
Yes. Speakers are paid a $300 honorarium. If there are two speakers, this honorarium is divided proportionally and each speaker must actively present for a minimum of 20 minutes.

Is there a fee to submit and abstract?
No, there is no fee to submit an abstract.
If my abstract is not accepted, will it be considered for the following years PRI Interdisciplinary Studies Summit?
Due to an unknown number of abstracts that may be submitted, all abstracts may not be selected. Topics will be selected based on the organization of the program, equipment needs, and quality of content and speakers. If your abstract is not selected, we would encourage you to submit an abstract again the following year (it can be the same abstract, updated, or a new topic).
Can I present remotely via Zoom?
The PRI Interdisciplinary Studies Summit will be held in Lincoln, Nebraska for IN-PERSON attendance only and will not be available via live stream/Zoom. All presenters will need to be able to travel to Lincoln, Nebraska, and present in-person as well.
When will speakers and topics be announced?
PRI will announce presentation speakers and their titles for the PRI Interdisciplinary Studies Summit by September 1st of each year (for the Summit held the following April).
Are there any pre-requisites or courses that I need to attend, to be able to attend the PRI Interdisciplinary Studies Summit?
No, there are no pre-requisites to attend. However, since the presentation topics will be relevant to the science of Postural Restoration® and must fall into one of the given summit sub-categories (Neuro-Postural Imbalance, Forward Locomotor Limitation, Respiratory Restriction, Pelvis Disorders, Cervial-Cranio/Cervical-Mandibular Dysfunction), we would recommend that those who are interested in attending have attended at least a couple PRI courses.

This annual Summit will be in-person only and will not be available via live stream/zoom. Please register early as course attendance is limited to 88 participants.
Special Needs Requests
If you have a disability and require accommodation in order to fully participate in this course, please contact us at least two weeks prior to the course date so that arrangements can be made.
Course Completion
The course must be attended in full, and an online course evaluation summary and short post-test (with a passing score of 70% or higher) must be completed in order to receive a certificate of completion for 15 CE hours. Certificates of completion will be emailed after the online course evaluation summary and post-test have been completed If you arrive late, or leave early, your certificate of completion will be adjusted for the number of CE hours you were in attendance.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Tuition is refundable less $50 if cancelled 14 days before the course date. Tuition is not refundable for registrations or cancellations within 14 days of the course. However, you may have someone attend in your place or attend on another date. If you choose to attend on another date, a $50 fee applies to transfer your registration. If you are a no show and we have no communication with you before the course you will forfeit your course tuition. PRI reserves the right to cancel a course and will refund the tuition fee only.
