I was born and raised in Santa Barbara, CA.  I was a BMX cyclist for 16 years, 7 of which I raced professionally and got to travel the world doing what I loved.  I have had an interest in the human body and performance since the age of 9, so I always knew I was going to pursue a career in this discipline after racing.  I graduated from California State University, Fullerton in the Fall of 2010 earning a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Clinical Exercise Science.  I was on track for physical therapy school, but after working as a  PT aide for 2 years, I realized I wanted to stick with what I grew up doing, which was training to help people.  While in school I became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist  through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, so I’d be set to find work once I graduated. Throughout school I was heavily interested in biomechanics, always searching for the, “why,” in patho-mechanics as I was a chronic hip pain sufferer.  Within a couple years as a trainer I was seeing some heavily patterned people and I just had to understand more of what I was seeing.  I attended a Perform Better Summit in the summer of 2015 where there was a PRI presentation given by Dr. Skip George.  What he was discussing was exactly what I had been banging my head on the wall over for the last couple years.  I attended my first course in San Diego later that year and have been non-stop since.

The demographic I work with are general clientele, amateur and professional athletes, mainly in the discipline of cycling and motocross.  Since studying PRI I have been referred clients that have ongoing discomfort/pain that have not been fully resolved.  It has been an eye opener for me in being able to get results with those clients and so empowering for them in gaining a better understanding and practical sense of moving within their own self.

History of Passion

The Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) is built around 30 years of clinical practice associated with recurring successes of specific patient treatment programs. We established reproducible, outcome-based programs based on consistent evidence-based correlations, discovered with patient biomechanical, respiratory, and neurological functional patterns and limitations. My passion for the integrated systems of the body has resulted in an examination and intervention process of the asymmetrical human body called Postural Restoration.
