Amy Brown, PT, DPT, PRC was born and raised in upstate New York, the oldest of four children. She grew up with a love for the outdoors and being active. When exploring career paths she wanted to choose a profession that was meaningful and would be mentally challenging. She found this in physical therapy and personal training. She earned a bachelor's degree in both exercise science and business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. After moving to Florida and working as a personal trainer and assistant in a physical therapy office she decided to pursue a degree in physical therapy. She received her doctorate degree in physical therapy and graduated with high honors from the University of St Augustine for Health Sciences in 2014. She has also received training in Pilates. In 2017, after being dissatisfied with the results of traditional physical therapy, Amy discovered the principles of the Postural Restoration Institute which became a turning point in her career. In 2020, Amy became a Postural Restoration certified therapist. Amy applies her background in personal fitness and the belief that there is an answer to every problem to her practice every day. Amy is excited to share the benefits that she personally has experienced through PRI with as many people as possible to bring them to a higher level of health and performance.

History of Passion

The Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) is built around 30 years of clinical practice associated with recurring successes of specific patient treatment programs. We established reproducible, outcome-based programs based on consistent evidence-based correlations, discovered with patient biomechanical, respiratory, and neurological functional patterns and limitations. My passion for the integrated systems of the body has resulted in an examination and intervention process of the asymmetrical human body called Postural Restoration.
