Karen Taylor Soiles began her career with a physical therapy degree from Northeastern University, Boston 1984 then obtained a MA in 1988 from Columbia University, NY in Motor Learning. She completed her Postural Restoration Certificaton in December 2011.  Karen recently opened her own practice, Karen Taylor Soiles PT, LLC

She was drawn to the study of PRI via the search for techniques maximizing optimal use of the diaphragm in 2008 and has never looked back!  The science of PRI offers this and oh so much more.

An energetic physical therapist with over 20 years of experience and a neurology specialty in varied clinical settings (out-patient, in-patient rehab centers, acute care and home care), she brings extensive experience to her practice. Her caseload is typically orthopedic injury (eg. back, neck, jaw or limb pain) , neurological (stroke, Parkinson, SCI) . Post concussion syndrome and mild traumatic brain injury are areas of keen interest to Karen. Having many years of hands on experience as well as the theoretical background to support this emerging area of study, Karen is in an excellent position to maximize function and promote the body’s ability to heal.

She is a focused, open-minded clinician with a true commitment to high quality care, professional growth and strength in multi-cultural sensitivity. She speaks French and Greek having lived 4 years in Paris and 6 years in Athens where she had a physical therapy private practice.

History of Passion

The Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) is built around 30 years of clinical practice associated with recurring successes of specific patient treatment programs. We established reproducible, outcome-based programs based on consistent evidence-based correlations, discovered with patient biomechanical, respiratory, and neurological functional patterns and limitations. My passion for the integrated systems of the body has resulted in an examination and intervention process of the asymmetrical human body called Postural Restoration.
