The Riekes Center in Menlo Park, California is seeking interns interested in participating with a dynamic non-profit organization that has positively impacted the lives of thousands of individuals throughout its 25-plus year history. Riekes Center interns may have the opportunity to:
- observe and assist an experienced PRC Physical Therapist and PRT and DNS certified strength and conditioning professional.
- Assist in the implementation of classes and individualized training sessions for a wide variety of students from middle school to professional level to adults
- work with veterans from the Veterans Affairs and Paralympic athletes as part of the Riekes Center official USA Paralympic Sport Club -- learn Olympic lifting, program design, agility, and speed programs from strength and conditioning coaches with over 10 years experience at the D1 level –work with other interns from Mexico, Japan, Finland and other parts of the US - Opportunity to assist in our Nature Awareness and Creative Arts department to learn the multifaceted approach of developing the whole person
- Numerous personal growth opportunities within the Riekes Center and the surrounding San Francisco Bay Area, California.
Qualified candidates should have a strong interest in PRI and in pursuing a career in Physical Therapy, Athletic Training, Strength and Conditioning, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy; at least 2 years of college level coursework. This is an unpaid internship. Housing assistance and stipend may be available depending on available funds. Length of time can vary from 2 weeks to 3 months plus. International candidates and those with limited English language skills welcome to apply.
