Position Overview

We seek a Licensed Physical Therapist to provide full time patient care, specifically a dedicated and personable individual with a strong work ethic. The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:  direct patient care, workflow management, quality customer service and a commitment to continuous performance improvements and career development. 

Daily tasks require a high level of detailed patient care as well as consistent organization and an ability to multi-task. This position also requires an excellent standard of professionalism and an ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external contacts, including patients, referral sources, employees, case managers and rehab peers. While we demand high levels of patient care and professionalism, it is a relaxed and comfortable environment.  Dress is business casual. 

Duties & Responsibilities

Manages the comprehensive care of THE PATIENT:

Evaluates Patients

Evaluates patients as appropriate for their age and diagnosis to determine current levels of functioning (range of motion, strength, balance, coordination, sensation, mobility, endurance, posture and other musculoskeletal and neurological assessments).  Evaluations are thorough and complete and follow sound, methodical concepts utilizing current evidence.  Evaluation findings and progress notes are documented accurately and thoroughly.  Re-evaluations are performed and documented at appropriate intervals.

Implements Plan of Care

Develops and carries out physical therapy treatment to meet the individual rehabilitation objectives which may include: neuromuscular facilitation, electrical stimulation, modalities, mobilization, traction, strength/endurance training, functional mobility skills, patient/family education.

Assesses Patient's Needs

• Assess the need for and the patient's ability to use adaptive equipment including ambulatory assistive devices, TENS units, orthotics/inserts, braces, bandages, compression garments, etc.
• Orders the appropriate equipment, issues it to patients and trains them in proper use of the devices.

Provides Patient Education

Provides patient and family education relating to each patient's functional strengths and weaknesses in areas of mobility at the time of the initial evaluation.  Provides written home programs in a timely manner, with modifications as necessary.

Documents Timely and Accurately

  • Documents in electronic medical record in the format identified by GO Sports Therapy standards.
  • Completes clinical and billing documentation timely and accurately.

Mandatory Qualifications

DPT degree from accredited university-level program.

Will consider new grads, but prefers 2-4 years of previous outpatient experience

Licensed in Texas

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in dry needling, Astym, and Postural Restoration Institute techniques

Strong verbal communication skills

Adept at using Word, Outlook, Electronic Medical Record

Detail-oriented, results-oriented

Flexibility and a proven ability to multitask effectively

Proactive and tenacious troubleshooting skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness and ability to take initiative

Strong work ethic
