Jessica Tidswell is currently working at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City where she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training. She teaches in the Athletic Training program where she also serves as the Clinical Education Coordinator and is clinical faculty working with the PAC-12 Utah Utes as a Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer.
Jess received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science from Montana State University Bozeman in 1999 where she was a member and three-time captain of the alpine ski team. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Duke University in 2002 and returned to school and received a second Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from the University of Utah in 2008 because she really wanted to be an Athletic Trainer and work with athletes. Jess was a competitive ski racer for 18 years and still loves to ski. She has not missed a season for 38 years. She has spent most of her professional career working with elite, professional and Olympic athletes in snowsports. She worked with US Ski and Snowboard both as an Assistant Coach and Physical Therapist and as the in-house Rehabilitation Specialist at the Center of Excellence training facility in Park City, UT. She worked privately for professional freeskier Tanner Hall for two years and most recently ran her own clinic in Park City prior to returning to her alma mater in July of 2015.
Jess is an avid volunteer and continues to work with the USA Ski Jumping Team, the International Paralympic Committee as a Senior Classifier for Para Alpine Skiing and Para Snowboard and is the Head of Classification for Para Surfing. She is an avid skier, photographer, hiker, road biker and loves to be outdoors with her husband and three Labradors: Bridger, Aksel and Sage.
